B is for Bengt

Bengt is the Swedish form of Benedict (meaning blessed). In my family tree there are only three individuals named Bengt, all Swedish. It is found in my tree very early - in the 1700s and 1800s. To learn more about the name Bengt visit Behind the Name. If you have Scandinavian roots, do you have any Bengts (Swedish) or Bendts (Danish)? It does not appear to be a name used in Norway.

See you tomorrow for the letter C!
